What I Did Last Summer

This is a flat out apology to all my long time readers and to all of those that have signed up for email notifications in the past two months.  It has been more than two months since my last blog post.  I have never gone more than three weeks and usually post every other week.  I apologize!

The reasons for this absence are two fold.  First I am just finishing up the epilogue and notes for my fourth book, “Entering the Shift Age”.  I have been writing it most of the year but intensively July and August.  This book is being published in an entirely new way called the Agile Publishing Model and is one of the models for book publishing going forward.  I will write about both the book and this new publishing model in upcoming posts.  I am very excited about it and think it perhaps my best book about the future.

Second, I went to Burning Man 2012, which took two weeks as I was at Black Rock City for nine days.  I spoke several times while there.   In addition I was the leader of  the seven person Future Wow!  team that shot  a documentary about Burning Man and Sacred Spaces Village, the wonderful camp of which we were a part of.   As many of you know, I am Futurist in Residence at the Ringling College of Art + Design.  Five members of the team were graduates of RCAD, so it was a wonderfully creative team.  We now move to post production of the documentary.

Simply put, Burning Man is one of the most important events on the planet.  I will of course write about it both here and at www.futurewow.com in the weeks ahead.

So that is what I did this past summer and why I have been absent this space.  I am back!  Look for posts on both topics in the weeks ahead.
