Hey David,

Always just Slightly Ahead of the Curve?? In this post you have jumped several curves. Halfway through your post I was convinced that you were going to discuss the hot new release of the Pulse Smartpen from Livescribe. This breakthrough technology for digital content capture is the “Back to School Rage” among University of California students. Advertising for the Smartpen is hip and cool targeted at those note-taking kids who want content capture for review. The “Pentop Technology” has incredibly robust SEARCH capabilities that make studying for the Mid-Term and Final much more efficient. The Livescribe Website is: http://www.livescribe.com/

Great YouTube videos:

Wow, Brainwave Capture. David you are amazing. Where do you find this stuff? Keep it coming and, I too, can remain Slightly Ahead of the Curve.

Best,

I wonder what the implication is for music. Will everyone be able to make music by thinking of a tune, a band, an orchestral performance. Will the years of hard work to learn to play..piano, violin, trumpet etc.
be supplanted by the thought of music come alive?

Will each musical thought be different from the next, just as each performance of a musical piece is unique.

Will music be cheapened by everyone making it, just as
in some ways it is cheapened by everyone listening to it? Or will we see a new world that makes music and not war?

I wonder how the system is going to be able to distinguish between the commands needed for a game (push, look under the rock, open the door) and the thoughts that come in your head when someone comes into the computer room while you are playing the game (what do you want, go away, etc...) I can imagine my character turning and trying to "go away" from the objective :)
