<description>In any election it come down to what is the alternative. I have yet to speak to anyone who is for McCain who speaks about how he is going to be a great president. All their conversation is about Obama and the fact that they are not sure about him.

We have a choice, either McCain or Obama. I have always felt that one of the key measurements as to who should get my vote is who has run the best campaign. A presidential campaign is often the first entity that a candidate runs and is solely responsible for. The Obama campaign, with Obama at the top is arguably the best run campaign since Reagan 1984 or Kennedy 1960. The McCain campaign seems to be one of the worst run campaigns.

As for the star power factor, I think that the problems we face as a nation are so large that having star power will be an asset in setting out to solve them. Dull and boring is not transformative.

<description>I have to agree with you David. My wife and I were talking about this last January actually, when we sat through the annual state of the union address.

We sat there thinking, who would we rather listen to next year, affiliation not withstanding. McCain or Obama? Obama certainly has the curb appeal over McCain; he&#039;s articulate, attractive, young, well spoken... all in all, easy to listen to and watch during a debate.

So we both agreed that he wins, hands down.

But let me get your opinion on this: Is there such a thing as too much celebrity &quot;star power&quot; when it comes to running for President of the United States?

My point is, Obama is such a smooth talker, that after listening to him for 30 minutes, you start jumping on board with everything he says... regardless of the topic...

For instance, Obama made a strong case for raising taxes... after a while, I was thinking, yeah, that&#039;s a good idea. Then I snapped out of it and realized this guy wants to raise taxes while my property value is going down, the price of everything (food, gas, consumables, utilities, etc) is going up.

At the same time, our government is allocating MY money for the worlds largest bacon museum, a farmers hall of fame, and countless other worthless endeavors known as &quot;pork&quot;.

I guess my point is, I think it would be a landslide if this election were taking place 2 years ago, but I think there is still some skepticism about Obama amongst those who still listen to the words he speaks, vs watching the words he speaks and nodding along.
