the concept of the "future", is a projection derived from our idea of who, or what, we think we are in the present. it has no reality apart from that.

so, "change" is fundamentally a reconceptualization that takes place in the present

self-concepts are difficult to let go of, personally or socially, but it would seem that your work as a futurist is precisely one of reconfiguration of vision.

having a better idea, and the skill required is making people feel like it is their idea

when we look for the signs, we can see that we are all on the way to oneness, in fact the only existing struggles are where that impulse is being denied

so a kind of grand reinterpretation of reality is underway, a recognition of what already is when looked at with clear eyes

skillful means is the need of the time

Gregory is once again correct: we-humanity- are our worst enemy. The next step is the hard one: responding to the developing reality that we - humanity - will either survive collectively or die individually

Unless the news has been blacked out, given the magnitude of the problem in China, it appears that
the Chinese government has done far better crisis management than our govrnment did with Katrina. There
appears to have been no major rioting or civil unrest
of Chinese stranded at the train stations. By contrast
there were reports of lawlessness and looting in New Orleans. As for the rebuilding of infrastructure investment in defense against enemies outpaces defense
against nature. That seems right given WMD, rogue
terrorists and rogue nations, but still one might need
to calculate which is the greater risk we face imminently, enemies or nature.
