I agree with Paul Wren. Wii is a silly toy and it's "moment" will be short lived.

Whilst I cannot deny the success of the Wii - and congratulate Nintendo for their triumphant return to the industry - I maintain that the Wii is a silly toy for little girls and housewives. Utterly lacking in quality software and holding little appeal for the hardcore, time may prove its success ephemeral. The seventh generation belongs to Microsoft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_video_game_consoles_%28seventh_generation%29).

I agree, the Wii is definitely a better choice than the PS3. I see serialization/episodic content as the real future of the industry though. As games increase in development costs and time, it makes a lot more sense. Look at the longevity of Halo 2 (still one of the most played games on Xbox Live.) They had several map releases that used the original software and kept it alive and interesting. Look at Steam and the mission packs of Oblivion and expansion packs and new missions of games like Warcraft.
