		<description>Wow! Great topic.  I think the lower cost of technology will be what leads us into the next decade, and the speed of disintermediation will follow the technology trend.

This all gets back to my earlier comment about the medium of which information will be delivered in the future.  It&#039;s not a matter of IF, but WHEN.

I also agree with Jay in that we&#039;re such an info-starved society that at some point, we&#039;ll be content being locked in a room with a computer and we&#039;ll never need to come out...  Some are already afflicted with this &quot;problem&quot;.

However, i wonder if they will also lead to ever more distractions for people, decreasing their productivity and leading to what Friedman calls being too connected. As technology gets better and cheaper, everyone has a cellphone, pda, ipod, laptop along with tons of other gadgets that all nag for their attention. With so many things to do when and how will people ever take a break from being wired and learn to interact with actual people?</description>
